🔻 Page from my Pilot Log Book showing I did my first solo flight on July 26, 1967 after 17 hours of training. I received my Private Pilot License on Oct 1, 1967 with a total of 38 hours flying time.

🔻 I am beside the Cessna 150 I flew from Edmonton to Wainwright for the 1st time. 1967. My mother was brave enough to come up for a short flight with me.

❇️ Hazel was born in 1946, she married her first husband, William (Bill) Alan Christie, in 1971, they had 2 children:

Just a little history of my life. After grade 11 I went out to Salmon Arm for the summer, Marian persuaded my parents to let me stay for my last year of school, upon completion I worked in Kamloops for BC Tel for a year before I attended Business College there. From there I moved to Edmonton in 1966 where I met and married my first husband Bill Christie in 1971.

In 1972 Bill and I moved to the farm at Unity, SK. We had our 2 children in 1974 and 1976 so I was a stay-at-home mom until 1991 when I enrolled in a computer business course. After Bill and I parted ways in 1991 I moved to Saskatoon where I worked at SIAST (Sask Institute of Applied Science and Technology – like NAIT or SAIT) in Human Resources.

I started dating Lawrence (a farmer in Unity) in 1993, our sons had been best friends since they were about 9 yrs old. We married July 4, 1995 (on my parents’ 63rd wedding anniversary) in Unity. My 2 kids and his 2 kids stood up for us.

I worked in several different offices over the 22 years, spending the last 7 years as Executive Assistant at The College of Dental Surgeons in Saskatoon, before retiring in 2013 and now enjoy spending time with my friends at the Leisure Centre Aquasize class, gardening, reading, and of course Netflix! I enjoy taking a short “hot holiday” in the winter and love living close to Jilla and the grandkids. Just wish Clayton wasn’t so far away in Yellowknife, NWT where he has worked since 2000.
