Chapter 2.1 – EMMA’S FAMILY – JEAN GILCHRIST

These are the words of Jean. ” I met Gordon near the end of May 1953, a month before I turned 15. We met at church where I was playing the piano on the platform at the front of the church that evening. I saw this fine looking young man come in. After church he introduced himself & asked if he could take me home. I said I’d have to ask my folks & Dad said NO. But the next Sunday evening Dad said YES. Gordon thought I was about 16 or 17, Gordon was 19 at the time.

❇️ Jean married Gordon Stanley Gilchrist (May 8, 1934) on October 6, 1956.

🔺 Jean, Marian and Myrna all wore the same wedding dress. I followed suit and wore my sisters wedding dress only 9 months later.

🔻 2000 – Dad & I in my brand new 2000 New Beetle. I wanted Dad to take it for a test drive!! We drove down to my cousin’s cottage at Clear Lake, early August, 2000

🔻 Oct 6, 2016 – Jean and Gordon’s 60th Wedding Anniversary

🔻 Where is Mr. John Deere, this was his collection – there were dozens of them… Gordon had an on line auction July 2016. There were only 75 tractors in the sale. Gord had already sold some before he decided to sell the whole collection. They all went. ▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️🔻There he is – with one of his favourite ▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️rare tractors that sold for the highest price
