🔻 Stella was working at Birks in Edmonton when this little box arrived at the store for her. Lorne Kinghorn found this box on the farm when he was 16, 1952. He kept it all these years, then in 2010 he brought it to Dianne on one of his visits to Calgary

🔻Oddly enough the memorial cross was made by Birks

🔹 I found this envelope (which I have never seen) on Remembrance Day, Nov 11, 2018. I feel so sad on this day every year thinking about what my Mother went through.
🔻 This is what was in the envelope:

🔻 THE FIELD OF CROSSES MEMORIAL PROJECT:
The Field of Crosses Memorial Project, started in 2009, is an annual display of white crosses on Memorial Drive in Calgary, Alberta. The display memorializes soldiers from Southern Alberta who lost their lives fighting for our country. Over 3400 crosses will stand in the military cemetery formation in the 5 acre memorial park from November 1 – 11 to signify the ultimate sacrifice so many made fighting for the freedoms we enjoy today.
