▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️ ▫️ ▫️ 🔻 15 months ▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️

🔻 Just where did the curly hair come from???

🔻 1955 – This is the Donald Kinghorn that I knew.
▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️🔻Dianne with Donny and Earl

🔻 1968 – Graduation from NAIT, Computer Technology
I was a computer programmer back in 1968 when computers took up the entire room. How things have changed… I worked for 7 different Oil & Gas Companies during my career writing financial reports from the corporate data base.

🔻 1968 – Garnet came over for a visit when Grandpa Allen was at the Dennison’s with his 1929 Ford Model “T”
▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️My Grandpa, I just loved spending time with him🔻

When I met Allen Duncan I told my Mother he was a bank manager, Mother didn’t believe me, but it was true, we were married 11 months later. Allen is almost 9 years older than I am, I guess he was waiting for me to grow up. Our backgrounds were so similar, his Mother remarried when his brother Colin was 12, Allen was 9 (same as myself and Jane), his family vacationed at the same Cabins in Penticton as we did, only 9 years apart. His mother had a 3 stone diamond ring, exactly what I had always imagined that I would have some day, oh it gets even scarier…
Both mothers had the identical furniture made by the Imperial Loyalist Maple company in Ontario (we still have all the pieces in our home in the den and the spare bedroom), and I have 2 identical tablecloths (you guessed it, one from each mother).
I guess we were just sole mates that had to find each other, and we did….
❇️ Dianne married Allen Duncan (April 18, 1939) on May 16, 1970.

(This is the same dress that Jane wore 9 months earlier, I just changed the vail)

🔻 1987 – Family reunion in Wainwright – Jarrod, Bob and Jane, Bill and Stella with Jill on her knee, Allen, Dianne and Aunt Kay

🔷🔷 Are we having fun yet???
🔻 2005 – New Years Day yearly activity, hitting golf balls at the Canmore golf course.

🔷🔹 Since we have retired we have been very lucky being able to travel the world by cruise ship. In 2016 and 2017 we literally cruised around the world,
🔹 We saw the most chaotic, the poorest, the richest, the most beautiful, the most litter along the road, the most billboards, the most scooters in one city, the most beautiful sea and harbour colours, the most outstanding architecture, the best freeway systems, the worst roads, the most high rises, luxury you can’t imagine, the most expensive cars, the biggest yachts, the smallest water village homes, the hottest and the most humid ports, and the worst working conditions you can imagine in a cashew factory.
🔹 We saw the most spectacular sunrises in the Southern Hemisphere and an awesome sunset leaving Malta in the Mediterranean Sea.

🔻Does this not look like a prairie scene, to think it all clouds

🔹 In 2016 we were in 26 countries and 35 ports, transversed the Suez and the Panama Canals and we were overnight in Hong Kong, Dubai and Venice.
🔻 Suez Canal, basically a waterway was just cut through the sand

🔻 Panama Canal

🔹 We saw the biggest cruise ship with 18 lifeboats, while our boutique ship has 6, we lost a day in a flash, gaining that day back one hour at a time, tendered only 3 out of 35 ports. We had the best entertainment every night.
🔹 We had a pirate drill and we were not allowed outside at night as all the outdoor lights were off. All curtains were drawn and we all gave a sigh of relief when we arrived in Jordan…..
🔹 We visited 26 countries, missed one port but stopped at 35 of which only 3 were tendered and travelled over 35,000 nautical miles which is 40,277 miles.
🔹 We saw sights we will never forget and came away with memories and some wonderful new friends.
🔷🔹 These are a few of our favourite places we have had the pleasure of visiting
🔻2014 – Mount Fuji, Japan▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️🔻2015 – Paris

🔻 2015 – St. Petersburg Russia▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️Church of the Spilled Blood 🔻

🔻 2016 – Water Village▫️▫️▫️2017 – Do they know where they are going🔻

🔻 2016 – Dubai – This the Burj, looking down from the 148th floor to the apartment complexes below. The dark shadows in the water is where the dancing water show happens every evening. I was in the right spot at the right time to get this wonderful picture with the sun shining on the Burj.

🔻2016 – Rhodes, Greece▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️2016 – Venice Gondola ride 🔻

🔻2016 – Elephant Orphanage in Sri Lanka▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️2016 – Morocco 🔻

▫️▫️Jane has one son from her first marriage, Jarrod Russel, November 8, 1973
❇️ Jane married Robert McNeil White (September 20, 1945) on July 14, 1979 , they have one daughter
▫️ Jill McNeil – December 3, 1980, Jill has one son
▫️▫️William McNeil, April 27, 2015
🔻 Jane’s son Jarrod was adopted by Bob.

After Jane’s divorce she went back to university to get her Education degree, she worked so hard doing 4 years in 3 years by taking spring and summer classes. It was a very busy time, raising a son on her own, baby sitting issues for a 2 year old as well as university classes and the long prep hours at home, but she did it, I was so proud of her.
Jane went from teaching Elementary school to spending the last 14 years enriching the lives of students at a school for the learning disabled. Imagine slipping through the cracks and not being diagnosed with a disability until later grades. Just imagine being in grade 4 or 5 not being able to read.
She was the literacy expert and was able to see her students not only return back into the regular school program but to see many of them acquire a University degree.
When Jane and her husband Bob decided retirement was the next step Bob retired after 17 years with the Calgary Flames organization as the Director of the boxes and suites while Jane retired from teaching, sold their home in Calgary heading west to Vancouver Island to a lovely new home just steps from the ocean.
Jane and Bob spend the winters in sunny Arizona when they are not having fun with their yearly trip to NYC, Europe or with their new grandson who you will meet later.
🔻 2016 – Jane and her friend Joanne have sponsored this bench in memory of their mothers along the ocean near Qualicum Beach. The girls meet on the bench for Mother’s Day, Birthdays and many other special occasions. Jane visits the bench frequently.
🔻 On occasion Jane brings this special “Stella” book to the bench🔻

🔻 2016 – Jane at the Beach of Normandy
▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️2017 – Doesn’t get much better than this🔻

🔷🔹 This is something of interest you might want to do sometime 🔹🔷
🔻 2017 – Jane and Bob rented a narrowboat (7 ‘ wide x 68 ‘ long) with another couple in England. They travelled 120 miles in 15 days and were responsible for opening and closing 122 locks. I had no idea these canals were in England. It is a huge summer adventure to take.
▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️This is what a narrowboat looks like 🔻

▫️▫️▫️▫️This is how narrow the canals are, one way traffic in some areas 🔻
🔻 This shows the different levels of the water

🔻 A lock is basically a chamber that holds water and accommodates the boats to either lower or raise them to a lower or higher level. A lock is therefore needed to follow the level of the ground. Jane said the gates are very heavy to move, you will notice the strips of wood which helps you gain momentum as you have to push the gates open or pull the gate shut
▫️▫️▫️▫️You can see how much effort you have to put out to close the gate 🔻
🔻 Not sure if Jane is resting or getting ready to open the gate

She did a 2 year business degree at Capilano university followed by obtaining a diploma from the Blanche McDonald 2 year fashion design program. After working for 2 years at Aritiza she went back to Blanche to teach for 2 years.
Jill then worked as a buyer for Intrawest buying for all their mountain resorts in Canada and the USA while living in Whistler. Wanting to get back to Vancouver Jill took a brief buying position at Lululemon, from there she was headhunted for a job with the Vancouver Canucks in 2008 as retail Merchandise buyer and manager for all Canuck merchandise stores, players, coach etc.
